From all of us at BradyCare, we want to thank veterinary technicians (called veterinary nurses in Europe and the UK) for all that you do.
Since 1993, National Veterinary Technician Week has been celebrated on the third week of October. During this week and every other day of the year, BradyCare values the significant and important work of veterinary technicians around the world.
Veterinary technicians are the lifeline of a clinic. Not only are they critical for the daily operations, but they play an integral part in animal care. A veterinary technician is like a nurse, surgical assistant, dental assistant, customer service representative, and animal welfare professional all rolled into one amazing human.
Daily, the list of responsibilities and expectations for a veterinary technician often seem impossible to achieve.
Such responsibilities include:
- Providing emotional support to pet owners and colleagues
- Managing medical records
- Assisting in complex small animal surgeries
- Monitoring anesthetics
- Caring for hospitalized patients
- Performing blood and urine collections and grooming services like nail trims
- Administering medication
- Trying their best to keep patients calm
- Customer service
- Documenting client histories
According to the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA) veterinary technicians are often overworked and not able to apply or advance their skills, leading to reduced job satisfaction.
But, through our interactive and affordable courses, BradyCare will empower veterinary technicians and other animal professionals to advance their skills and confidence. By improving their skills, knowledge, and decision-making capabilities with our courses, veterinary technicians will be able to provide the highest standards of patient care and improve animal welfare.
BradyCare appreciates the dedicated work of veterinary technicians around the world.
We are committed to provide them and animal professionals with the skills and resources to remember why they first got into this line of work- their love for animals.
