The upcoming holidays are a special time, but can also be a challenging time full of hustle and bustle. For many people the holidays can feel incredibly overwhelming as they try to balance commitments to family, friends, and work.

Holidays can involve:

  • Organizing holiday decor around your home
  • Cooking and baking traditional foods in a short period of time
  • Attending holiday events with family and friends
  • Attending holiday work events
  • Preparing to meet work deadlines before or during the holidays

During the holidays all of these stresses can make you feel like you’re constantly being stretched into all directions.

This is why we’ve been focusing on #Slowvember on our social media.

Slowvember is a challenge to slow down in November. Originally, it started as an art challenge, to help people slow down and make something beautiful during the month of November. But now Slowvember is a term that takes on a different meaning for each organization or purpose.

For us at BradyCare, Slowvember means to slow down and rediscover your purpose of why you started in the animal profession in the first place. Was it because of your love of animals? Was it due to volunteer work that you did? Was it because of a family pet?

Slowvember is a way to remember and remind animal professionals like you to slow down, reset, and to prioritize your mental health before the arrival of the holiday season. Or at any time!

Every Monday we focus on mental health on our social media (follow us at the links below!), as mental health issues are growing at an alarming rate in the animal profession. Most of our international team at BradyCare is made up of animal professionals, so we understand how easy it is to burnout and have declining mental health from the around-the-clock stresses of the job.

We understand you.

So, as the holiday season approaches, we encourage you to slow down for November and take time to rediscover your purpose.
