When an animal enters into our lives, everything changes for the better. For BradyCare’s founder, Ursula Goetz, this was Brady.

Who is Brady?

Brady was the cat companion of a senior lady who sadly passed away at home. Unfortunately, she and Brady weren’t found until one week after she passed, when the police had to break the door to get into her little apartment. Terrified, Brady tried to run and hide under his owner’s bed, but the police pulled him out and took him to an animal shelter.

Traumatised and stressed from these experiences, Brady became “aggressive and unhandleable”, and therefore classified as un-re-homable and was soon to be euthanised. Thankfully, the shelter team recognized that Brady’s aggression was based in fear, anxiety, and trauma and what he needed was a calm environment where he would have the space, patience, compassion, and time to help him heal. So, they asked Ursula to take him in.

From the very beginning, Ursula felt a strong connection with Brady, she understood him and just wanted to help him. Just like how she understands that people who work with animals have chosen this path out of compassion, care, and love, but sometimes the stresses of life take over.

Rooted in this empathy and Passion for Compassion, this is where BradyCare started.
